Guest guest
, I know that when was being investigated for GAII (she has GAIII?) they told me how important it was to have calories every couple of hours. You would want to avoid high carb meals because it can cause a rebound affect. The theory with low blood sugars is that when they are low, give them sugar. The problem with this is that the sugar will shoot up and fall quickly back down to where you started. It is a bad cycle. Have you tried gatorade after the vomiting episode or before he throws up when his sugar is low? Is he on a protein restriction d/t the GA? If went more than 4-5 hrs without fluid and calories (diarrhea, vomiting) we had a protocol for admission for fluids for 24 hrs at least. You probably know all of this stuff, but I just wanted to pass on what I have been told. Dawn
