Dawn,

Thanks for the email, it really did help. I guess I should be reading other emails more frequently. I will try to encourage her to eat more of these types of food. My recent problem with her is that she does not like to eat. She gets tired from eating so she naturally chooses anything easy. Her favorite thing to eat right now is american cheese, and mild (not a good thing for a constipated child). I guess as long as she does eat, it is better than nothing. Dr. Cohen also reccomended Carnation Instant Breakfast. This definatly increases her energy, but the chocolate drool is ruining her shirts. I guess it's the Catch 22 of mito, and having a two year old. One day we will figure out how to win this battle.

HI:

Another response to this. Does Gracie get tired from all the chewing?

If so, may be you can puree the brown rice and such like baby food.

Good earth has some good baby foods with brown rice and they are all organic.

You could even buy some of those to see if she likes them. Give more

frequent meals throughout the day. May be not so much food so she

doesn't get tired and may be swallowing will be easier because she doesn't

have to chew so much and she will still get her fiber and complex carbs.

May be you can mix them with milk.
