Eileen,

I looked up Maytenus krukovii here: http://www.rain-tree.com/chuchuhuasi.htm

Being a horticulturist I was curious about the plant. But I’m no chemist

so can’t say if it is legal or not. What is AK recommending it for?

Reading through the link it sounds like it’s mostly the bark that is

used. Would you be drinking it as a tea? Or in capsules? Of course you know

that if you try it, do so cautiously and discontinue if it causes irritation or

other symptoms. Sorry I could not have a more definitive answer for you.

nothing else in this product so I think it's

legal but my A.K. recommended it - anyone have experience with it???

In general, bark teas and ground bark (with the exception of certain

spices) are not SCD legal. There's a difference between taking capsules

of the stuff and using a teaspoonful as flavoring in an entire dish, of

which you eat a single portion.

Many otherwise competent medical practitioners do not know how what they

prescribe contravenes the principles of SCD. Or they assume a small

infraction does not matter.
