That is awfully high anyway you look at it, due to not eating. This may be a silly question, but has she drank anything that is full of sugar, or recently taken her medications? Anyways, I would definatly think this warrents a call to a doctor, especially if she is risk of diabetes. Best wishes, I will pray it is a fluke.

I do know that the steroids can cause pretty high blood sugars. I would worry that her body may be too stressed, and have another SLE. Does your pediatrician have an answering service? I think you should probally give them a call, and see if they want to do anything now, or wait until monday. Best Wishes.

Steroids can raise a blood sugar. I would just run it by the pediatrician.

No meds recently given and no sugary drinks. Thanks for your help. I am wondering if it is due to her increased steroids. But I wondered how dangerous it is to be that high, and what could go wrong by being that high. Thanks for your info, again.
