Guest guest
Asenath has been under the weather as you know with the breathing issues and hasn't wanted to eat much. Last night she out of the blue told us her tummy hurts when she eats. So anyway, today she hasn't eaten yet (It is 4:45 PM) and I am going to hook her up to her g-tube if she won't eat the food in front of her presently. She started whining a little while ago and so I took her blood sugar to find it was 149. If she hasn't eaten since about 4 AM when her pediasure tube feeding was done, why would it be this high? Should I worry about diabetes or is this maybe even a hypoglycemia bouncing issue? I know she is at risk for diabetes due to the high steroid use and the pulmonologist raised the steroid to 20 cc/day temporarily to help with the asthma/breathing issues. Could this be the problem even?
