Where I buy Friendship Dairy DCCC, they have the J & J in exact packaging right next to it.  It just costs more.  I have used it when they were out of Friendship and it seems identical.

Isn't there another brand that is hard to find but legal?  I can't find it in the book but found it locally once and I think someone said it was ok.

Hopefully someone will know more about the J & J, the only difference is the writing on the package.

There is a Kosher/Jewish brand called J & J that makes farmer cheese. Looks just like the Friendship one. Is that one not legal?? That's the only brand I can find where I live. :(

Thanks,

Debbie,

Yes, the Friendship Farmer cheese (DCCC) is kosher.  According to people on this list, this is the only brand that is legal for SCD.  Can anyone please tell me why; I can't remember.  And, were you saying you are not sure what DCCC is, or what kosher is?

Can we make our own DCCC?  My husband goes through so much yogurt each day that we don't have enough left over for dripping.  And we bought the yogourmet too.

BTW, my husband is going to try to get off his meds.  He is on 30 mg prednisone/day and 4 asacol.  Is that a little or a lot?  BTW again, this all started as a result of his doing an intense cleanse for his liver.  He never had problems like this before, so he is believing with this diet, he will be off his meds, and back to normal.  BUT, we will not be eating like we did before.  Once we finish some of the illegals in the freezer and pantry (we don't want to waste what we have in there), we will be changing our diet.  Sugar should be looked at like it's a poison.  BTW again, our children and I all got a mild respiratory flu about 2 weeks ago and he did not.  We were wondering if the diet may have had something to do with it.
