Guest guest
At the risk of sounding like a wet blanket, I think anyone eating bread or syrup or honey of any kind is headed for trouble. I've heard the same thing expressed in diff. ways for 3 years: Can't I eat my favorite foods in " moderation " ? How much sweet/salty/carb-like stuff can I get away with, and still lose weight? Then it becomes: Or at least not gain weight? If I eat sugar free syrup, ice cream, low-carb cookies, cake, and just a cracker or two, isn't that okay? Later I hear the same folks wonder why they don't get to the weight they want to be at. They wonder why we get stuck on plateaus. People say I now have the metabolism of a hummingbird... well, I don't know about you, but I can't eat this stuff without gaining weight. Sugar-free or low-carb foods are not calorie-free and can trigger cravings. The people I see who succeed are those who refrain from carbohydrates AND avoid foods that mimic desserts and empty snack foods. Your mind rationalizes, but your fat cells hold onto everything.
