Guest guest
From my research on jaundice, I found that lactic acid issues can be related with it. We have wondered how much the intense jaundice Zipporrah had and the elevated lactic acid levels she had, had to do with her first stroke episode. I think her body was so thrown off metabolically that she couldn't handle the RSV when it occured. Don't remeber where I read the jaundice-lactic acid connection, but it was very interesting material. Darla: mommy to Asenath, Zipporrah, and the gang Questions/Whitney Do you wonder how much the jaundice had to do with all this? Caden's number only got to 20 and they told us it wasn't serious until it was 28-30, but who knows. We read an atricle the other day that talked about how docs aren't taking jaundice as seriously as they need to these days. My family talks about it all the time because they sent us home for 2 days and then we had to go back in for the jaundice and dehydration from the vomiting/reflux.Our guys sound so much alike. Caden was never FTT, but he could have been w/o his meds. Was your biopsy done fresh or frozen? Your reply gives me hope that he may still hold his head up and sit one day. We go to PT twice a week, OT once a week, and are evaluated by the speech therapist every month. Yes, we have been told he looks like the Gerber baby!!!Have you, yourself, had any testing done? Was 's disease a fluke? I know you say you have a healthy daughter and I can't imagine how thankful you are for that. I want a big family and always have, but I don't think we could survive this nightmare with another child. We will have testing done before we consider having any more children and hopefully we will be able to have more one day.Yes, some days are easier than others. Yesterday was good news, but I hate the fear of the unknown. I just want to know what we are up against and what we need to do for our little guy to help him. Thank you for the encouraging words and sounds like you are doing a great job too!!Vicki, , & Caden
