Hi Tracie,

Thought I'd send you another update on Mom. Please share with the group.

Praise God, she continues to get better! Thanks so much for your continued prayer support!

Over the past 5 days, they have removed the ventilator, feeding tube, arterial line, chest tubes, IVs, and catheter! She still has a port in her chest they use to administer meds, but that's about it.

She still has a long road ahead. She needs assistance using a bedpan, feeding herself, etc., and she is still very weak.

She requires physical and occupational therapy to strengthen her muscles, which will enable her to get back on her feet and care for herself again. She also is still having trouble eating and drinking, as her stomach has been without solid foods for so long.

The therapy makes her nauseous and exhausted, and the doc says it'll be a while before she'll be ready to be transferred to a hospital closer to home for rehab.

It's hard for her and Dad to be patient, though we stress to them that she's in the right place and it'll just take time.

Please continue the prayer support, as we see evidence every day that God is listening and answering. She just needs to regain her strength, health and skills.

We've told her we're keeping you all updated, what's happened to her, and everything else, and she is so grateful to you all for your continued support, and looks forward to being back home and on the puter again. :-)
