Guest guest
Hi Rose, I don't remember where I got the extract but if you have a Schunks try there. I will look around for it here. It is so good I need to make some again. I have another recipe you might like I am sending. And Would you like a bread machine recipe for pretzels? It makes making them so much easier and it is very good too. Ice Cream In A Bag No it's not just for summer anymore! When the kids complain they have nothing to do on a chilly winter day hand them this homemade Ice Cream project and let them literally shake their sillies out. The end result? A delicious homemade treat... that they made themselves. Even the littlest toddler can participate. So while they shake... and shake... and shake (about 15 minutes), you can get a few things done, or better yet take a breather. Why so many Ziplocs? From experience I can tell you that they tend to sprout little holes during the shaking process, so better to be safe than to create a new clean up project for you. I don't know about you, but as far as I'm concerned it is never too cold for ice cream. But homemade ice cream... now that is the best. Make sure they make enough for you! INGREDIENTS 1 quart size Ziploc bag1 gallon size Freezer Ziploc bag2 gallon size Freezer Ziploc bags1 cup Milk1 cup Half and Half1 teaspoon Vanilla1/2 cup Sugar1/2 cup Salt (use rock salt if you have it)Ice INSTRUCTIONS - Pour milk, half and half, vanilla and sugar into the quart size Ziploc bag. Make sure it is sealed tightly - Place filled quart size Ziploc inside the gallon Ziploc. Fill the gallon Ziploc with ice and salt. - Seal gallon Ziploc and put inside a 2 gallon Ziploc. Seal tightly and put this package inside a second 2 gallon Ziploc. Seal tightly. (Picture 1) - Instruct your kids to shake the bag until the ice cream is firm (it won't get hard). This should take about 15 minutes or so. You can put a towel around bag so their hands don't get too cold, or even better have them put on oven mitts. (Picture 2) - Take the ice cream filled bag out of the other bags. Cut the bottom corner on the diagonal and squeeze ice cream out in a swirl. (Picture 3) - Add toppings if desired Remicade went well...I spiked a temp again this time and I am wiped out. I did the temp thing last time too and was tired for two weeks. My Rheumatologist's afternoon schedule had several cancelations so I got to sit and "chat" with him for 1/2 hour. WOW he is a totally different fellow when not rushed. He is amazed of how I am responding to the Remicade. Told me all about his other unusal patients he has on Remicade. ( I am his only Sarcoidosis patient) Even joked a couple of times. Double WOW! Headed to bed... Enjoy the recipes with your Gkids Ruth
