Guest guest
Here is a photo from my long-awaited trip to the Indiana State Fair! I rented a scooter, took a hat, a bunch of fans & extra batteries, 3 jugs of ice water & a cool band for my neck. We were there from 2:30pm until after 10pm. This picture is at the "Fishin' Pond," a new feature at the fair. The kids loved it. They had staff to help them. It was a catch & release thing. In the picture are my grandson (5), my cousin Lulu & her kids Billy (12) & Jessie (10), plus my granddaughter (12), in the blue shirt to my left. Notice my foot elevators! Even with the scooter & all my supplies, I was exhausted & took 2 days to recover, but I'd do it again! I ate an elephant ear & a roasted ear of corn that was so delicious I wanted to go back & get 2 more! But I didn't. I went on a couple of rides with , but mostly just enjoyed the sounds, the smells, watching the people. It's been 4 years since I've been to the fair & I've really missed it. This was the 150th anniversary of the Indiana State Fair. It's a huge event, probably one of the largest state fairs in the country. I used to go every year, from the time it opened early in the morning, until it closed at 11pm or midnight. Next year I'm going to go one day by myself, so that I can go through the exhibit halls & take my time looking at stuff the kids get bored with. They have exhibits of photography, art, sewing, quilting, all kinds of food, history, music, everything you can think of. Plus the animal barns! Well, I need to get my laundry done. I hope everyone is feeling "weller" and has some sunshine in sight. Guest guest
What a nice looking group of kids. The one with the baseball cap is identical to my son. I had to look twice!!! You looked really good Rose too, it looks like you lost weight. I am glad you had a good time with the kids. Next year find an adult to go with to look at the exhibits.......
