Need advice on SCD and water

I use a Brita water filter for all the water I drink (which is a lot!) and use in cooking and juice-making. There are a number of water filter types, however, so it doesn't have to be Brita. Since I developed my upper GI dysfunctions, my stomach doesn't tolerate unfiltered water, so I don't have a choice, but I would still use a water filter, as I did before I started SCD.

Hi,I want to reduce my footprint on the environment. I was wondering if I switched to tap water but pass it through some type of water filter machine like Brita if it would be ok. I don't want to risk getting sick again because of the chemicals in the water. Can someone let me know? Thanks,GERDS and chronic C.SCD 19 mths

I drink water that comes in returnable glass bottles.

And also use a flowmatic filter in my bath.

I've been told that an inverse osmosis filter is also a satisfactory solution.

Thanks so much to all who replied. It's a great help! I'm happy I can do this.

, where did you get the Berkey water filter?

to remove 99.99% of impurities.

I just drink tap water. We have a water filter in our fridge, but I discovered

that drinking that water made my mouth have a weird burned feeling. Sucks :-(

Holly..

What kind of filter is it? Brita is junk.

Also is your local water heavily treated with flouride?

Not the greatest.

We used to have a Brita water pitcher, and I was fine with that. The one in the

fridge is Pur. I don't think it bothered me when the filter was brand spanking

new, but more like a month or so after use. The filters last for 6 months.

I found this site ( http://phoenix.gov/WATERSERVICES/qualre08.pdf ) that has

what's in the tap water, but I don't really know what's safe and what's not.
