Guest guest
you may have to tell your doc that orders the tests to write on the order form specifically about the amber vial so there are no more screw ups on the lab end of things. you shouldn't have to keep getting poked repeatedly just because of their stupidity. you could also refuse to let them draw blood while you are there until they listen to you about the amber vial. then maybe they would at least call someone to check on the instructions and get it right. sheesh! mary y st. louis itchin to be switchin > > > Hey I went to Quest to! the technician kept > > smacking > > > (lightly though) my arm because my vein kept > > > collapsing so she just before she finishes drawing > > all > > > the blood I tell her one of these has to be in an > > > amber vial so its not exposed to light, so she > > says to > > > me " I know my job and I know what I am doing " well > > > needless to say guess who has to take another > > blood > > > test because the blood wasnt put in an amber vial. > > > Which quest lab did you go to? > > > > > > ww, > > > Lisbeth > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------- -- > >
Guest guest
I think I started all this amber vial questions, I had a total of 7 vials of blood taken and they tested vitamin, hormones, cholesterol and god only knows what else I am not sure. I have to go back because I am not sure for what the amber vial is needed as soon as I find out I will post it here ww, Lisbeth --- Beauby1022050943@... wrote: > Could you please tell me about the amber vial. Guest guest
Some of the blood tests for vitamins (not sure which ones) must be in a tube with no additives and must not be exposed to light. The tubes must be wrapped in foil or placed in special amber tubes to protect the blood sample from light. The nurse who does my bloodwork always has to check the book for the proper procedures. > > Could you please tell me about the amber vial.
