which test requires an amber vial? i've never heard of that before,

or ever seen an amber tube for drawing blood. interesting!

I cant remember if it was the Vit A or copper test,

needless to say I have to have another blood test

you may have to tell your doc that orders the tests to write on the

order form specifically about the amber vial so there are no more

screw ups on the lab end of things. you shouldn't have to keep

getting poked repeatedly just because of their stupidity.

you could also refuse to let them draw blood while you are there

until they listen to you about the amber vial. then maybe they would

at least call someone to check on the instructions and get it right.

I think I started all this amber vial questions, I had

a total of 7 vials of blood taken and they tested

vitamin, hormones, cholesterol and god only knows what

else I am not sure. I have to go back because I am not

sure for what the amber vial is needed as soon as I

find out I will post it here

Some of the blood tests for vitamins (not sure which ones) must be in

a tube with no additives and must not be exposed to light. The tubes

must be wrapped in foil or placed in special amber tubes to protect

the blood sample from light. The nurse who does my bloodwork always

has to check the book for the proper procedures.

Thanks for the advice I am not letting her drawing the

blood until I see the actuall vial!
