Guest guest
Hi all, I'm 3 months post-op and have lost 76#. I'm begining to believe that 20#'s of it was my hair! I am sheding like crazy and it doesn't look like its slowing down. I get 80-100 grm protein a day and take all my vits including zinc. I know no one can do anything for me, but please some one tell me that I'm not going to go bald! My hair was past my butt and as soon as I got home from the hospital I cut off a good 6in, I thought that maybe the less weight my head had on it the less hair I would lose... ~Hugs~ Pat 2/20/01 -76#

Dear Pat, Word on the street is that it grows back all by itself. --Steve (bald anyway) --
Guest guest
Dear Pat, First of all, Congratulations on your 76 pounds lost FOREVER! I'm still pre op, but i've done a lot of research on the hair loss issue because I have thin hair and I " shed " A LOT of hair now!! I am afraid that i'll be losing too much hair when I have my surgery (6/15). That's why I started taking hair vitamins/supplement that I bought off a website called HAIRBOUTIQUE.COM. I've been taking my vitamins for about a month now and I can really see a difference (especially in my bathtub when I wash my hair!!!!!). I hope this helps. Keep me posted, since this is a subject that I'm really concerned about. I'd appreciate if you let me know what some post ops have done to combat this problem so that I can " arm " myself when i'm in your shoes. Congratulations again, all the best, -EC 225 (preop weight loss efforts) 5'4 BMI 40, 28 yrs. old > Hi all, > I'm 3 months post-op and have lost 76#. Guest guest
Hi Pat, I started losing hair at 3 months too. I started taking Ultra Nourishair from GNC as well as extra MSM (sulphur). I don't know if it's the supplements or just part of the natural process, but the hair loss has slowed down considerably now at 4 1/2 months. I haven't heard of anyone going bald yet!
