Guest guest
, thanks for your concern, but my poochie is back home & his old self! He started pooping last night & acting his usual crazy self. The vet is guessing that when he got into the trash, he ate something that caused a lot of gas & distended his intestine, so that it temporarily shut down, so to speak. Kind of like a paralytic ileus in humans, which happens sometimes after abdominal surgery, from monkeying around with the bowel. Usually after a couple of days, it starts working again. He lost 5# total during this ordeal (from 49# to 44#),but is making up for lost time, eating like a horse. It's a huge relief for me. Not only was I not prepared to lose him, but I just couldn't bear the thought of telling all the grandkids, who have all grown up with him. We've already lost Trixie & tey would really miss B.J. So, like my cousin Lulu told me, it just wasn't his time!
