During my post-op bloodwork this week, the tech just refused to listen to my suggestion that they use a blood pressure cuff. I have terrible veins, and being diabetic, I've had millions of bloodtests, and the only thing that works the first time is the cuff to increase the pressure. Would he listen? Noooo. After 2 sticks in each arm, he finally took the blood from the back of my hand, and with each of the 3 vials, he re-positioned the needle!! By the way, my regular tech at the lab I go to, told me that the hospital techs are often just out of training, and often go on to private lab jobs becasue of the regular hours. Don't know if she's right or not, but it matches my experiences! Ellen (feeling like a pincushion) > Tom
