Guest guest
Hi my name is and my daughter Hailee has eating problems/disorder. She thinks that she can go days without any type of food or drinks. Than on what is a good day for her she may only eat one meal and one drink and than she is good for days again, than out of the blue she will eat like there is no tomorrow and you have to hide food from her. she is 6 but mentally is 2. more or less she dosnt eat very much. We had a g tube placed three years ago which really saved us and now when she dosnt eat i just supplement with a feed. She cant go without eating she is extremelly hypoglycmic. Has your dr done any swallowing test to make sure there isnt a swallowing problem. What about gi studies, a child like mine if they have ulcers or severe reflex also do not want to eat, it hurts there stomach. Hope this gives you some help and princess hailee
Guest guest
-Try the feeding group on yahoo. It helped us a lot. Our DD received her first g-tube at the age of 15 mo. She was always skinny and weighed only 12 pounds at 14 mo. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/feeding/?yguid=99312756
Guest guest
My daughter, Grace, has very little interest in foods. She does have a g tube, but so far it is only for medications. She takes a medication (Periactin) for her migranes, but since it also is an appetite stimulant we use it twice a day. For Grace, the Pericatin has not been too much of a help in appetite, but it is great for her migranes. However, one of my other kids (non mito) took it for awhile also for migranes. When took it, we could not feed her enough. Hope this can help a little.
Guest guest
, My DD is six and has been on periactin for a year. She has had migraines since the age of four. The periactin has almost eliminated the headaches. I think that it has finally helped with her eating too. We still have to encourage her to eat but she does eat. We have not used her g-tube in several months. At the age of six, she can finally eat soft meats like chicken nuggets. She started being able to eat these within the last month or so. It is so amazing. She can't eat pieces of meat yet but maybe she will in time. She can now eat shredded meats and soft meats like chicken nuggets, bologna, and hot dogs!
