Guest guest
Yes Pam, it was extreme but I had a dead line to meet and fortunate, I did not get sick and had the surgery before my husband had to leave. He was here with me until I went in for my check up (2 weeks) but I did fine and had no problems. Don't do what I did but do something that you know you can do and it is safe and healthy. Guest guest
Actually, that's what the doctor told me to buy. I haven't done so yet, but I'm going shopping for a new pair of shoes and the insoles on Saturday. Ron Re: Re: Losing the 10% I've had the plantars fasciitis before, Ron. Hurts! Feel for ya, bud. I had to buy *Foot Soldiers* andput them in my shoes. A hard insole type thing. Nottoo comfy, but it helped.Laurie__________________________________________________
Guest guest
I know it's sound advice Robynn, as that's precisely what the doc told me to do. It's obvious you've been there, done that. And yes, ibuprofin is exactly what I've been taking for the very reason you mentioned. Yes, it does help relieve the pain, but I know it also helps relieve the swelling. You guys all have good sound advice for everyone! Ron Re: Re: Losing the 10% yeah, I'm really struggling again as well.... I sometimes wonder if I'll ever succeed at this. Guest guest
Nope, the doc recommended theFoot Soldiers, but I'll look at both and do a little research before I buy something. And now... drumroll please.... when I weighed in today at Richmond... I was down another 4 pounds! Doesn't sound like a whole lot, but as I said earlier, I wasn't as f=good as I should have been, so I'm extremely happy that I'm still going in the right direction. I was so afraid I had backslid... I also had a nice talk with Steve (one of the case managers, for those not familiar with the Richmond staff). is actually handing my case, but she's been sick. I hope she gets well soon. Steve is setting me up to go through the nutrition "orientation" again. No, I'm not particularly pleased about it, but I told him that whatever I needed to do, I would do. So go ahead and get that hoop fired up, I'm gettin' ready to jump through it! According to the weight-loss Dr. Baggs set for me, I still have 83 pounds to lose. I told Steve I was very unhappy with the fact I was told I'd have to lose 20% rather than 10%, even though I can mostly see Dr. Baggs' point of the health issue. It's just a lot of weight to lose. But no matter what, I'll do it! I mean hey.... I've lost 42 pounds in the past 5.5 weeks right....? I can drop the other 83 in about 2-3 months if I work really hard at it. Maybe my surgery can be a nice Christmas or News Years goft to myself. Ron Re: Re: Losing the 10% Hi Ron, I can sympathize with you on the Plantar facisititus . I had that once and ended up having one of those painful injections. It did the trick though. Did the doctor recommend Spenco ortho insoles for your shoes. My orthopedic surgeon did and they really make a difference. I have not had the problem since. Have you ever considered water aerobics. It is really one of the best types of exercises for people who have walking issues. It is low impact and fun. When I weighed 357 pounds I was at first very shy but then after a while I realized that everyone is there for the same reason to get healthy. My best wishes fro your sister on her big day. also good luck on you weigh in. Ramona
Guest guest
Good luck! I work on my feet. Doc had me stay home and off my feet for 5 days, take ibuprofen, and get those little soldiers. I was lots better in a couple of weeks. Laurie __________________________________________________

Guest guest
That's not a bad idea Caryl, but trust me whan I say that no one will be watching me run for quite some time... I may be doing well in the weight loss business right now, but I still weigh 488 pounds... a little heavier than your average sprinter. Guest guest
Have you tried real cream? One other option is half & half, although that does have a little bit of carb. You can buy the little cups of half & half at restaurant supply places (like Smart & Final). They don't need refrigeration. Diane Duenas wrote: >I am very carb sensitive. Guest guest
Pam, believe me, I know how difficult it is to stick with the program. I struggle every single day. I have to ask myself if I need to eat this or that or would something else be a better choice. I try to always make the good choice, but I obviously don't always. It's also very important that when those poor choices are made, don't just go off the deep end and go on a binge. Just get right back on the horse and ride on. Don't lose sight of the ultimate goal. Think of how much better you can feel at a lower weight. To me, it's just not worth it anymore to eat those fries or that chocolate bar. Do I miss those foods? You bet your a$$ I do. But I look at them like a good friend that has betrayed me. I cannot be friends with them any longer. Every time I look in the mirror I can see what they have done to me. Go ahead... take a look right now what they've done to you. Fight back Pam... you can win! Ron Re:> Re: Losing> the 10%> > > Hi Ron,> I can sympathize with you on the Plantar> facisititus . Guest guest
Hi Ron, Its not the weight its how you roll your feet when you walk some are inward some are outward there are stabilizers in the shoes so you don't have sore feet also use powder in your shoes and spray on your feet so you don't get your feet sweating and get blisters. If you take care of them you can walk farther. Think about it... I learned the hard way. so now I know also Kerasal AL Daily foot cream is great to use after your shower or at knight when you go to Bed... You can get it at Longs Drugs. This is just for walking first Also look into running socks they hug your feet so your socks don't bunch up or move around New balance has them too. When you walk you want the best time possible so its not a bad experience and you wont want to walk because it hurts your feet every time. Your feet are worth a little money they are at the bottom all the time and do most the work. Take care of your self and have fun Big hugs Caryl That's not a bad idea Caryl, but trust me whan I say that no one will be watching me run for quite some time... I may be doing well in the weight loss business right now, but I still weigh 488 pounds... a little heavier than your average sprinter.
