Guest guest
Does anyone have a recipe for homemade " fake " Worcestershire sauce? My son LOVES Chex mix and I'm trying to come up with something that tastes similar with dried bread cubes as a base. The butter and W. sauce are what gives it the good flavor, so I'm hoping to find something that works. We always have this around the holidays, and my other kids shouldn't have to do without, but my UC son should get something yummy too. Any ideas? Thanks, Liz
Guest guest
I've watched Ray on Foodnetwork sautee anchovies in either extra virgin olive oil or butter; they disintegrate fast. I do not have a link. She says Worcestershire is made with anchovies so it's a good sub. Probably wouldn't tell your son that though depending on how picky an eater he is ;-).
