Guest guest
Congratulations Tina! No graveyard shift for me...but if you've survived this much, I imagine that will be doable for you. > Howdy everyone! I start a new job on Sunday. Guest guest
Thanks ! I'm really excited to be returning to the working world. I LOVE LOVE LOVE staying home with my kids so this should give me the best of both worlds...sleep while they are in school...work while they are sleeping! LOL! Tina > > Howdy everyone! Guest guest
I'm going to be working for an ambulance billing company. Nothing too fancy but it'll be good hours for my family and the pay isn't too horrible! I'm really looking forward to being with big people again and having big people conversations. Tina WAY TO GO on the weight loss! Keep up the great work. > > > Howdy everyone! I start a new job on Sunday. I'm going to be > working > > > the graveyard shift (9:00 pm until 5:30 am). Guest guest
Tina, me me! I do! I work 7pm to 7am. Three days a week. Eating and drinking my protein work out wonderfully for me at work. At home i'm always just too busy to eat and drink sometimes. At work I do a great job. One or two shakes and a meal that has been planned out, rather than just going into the kitchen and deciding what I feel motivated to prepare. Or what's the easiest. Guest guest
Thanks Colleen! I'm trying to stay up as late as possible tonight, tomorrow night, and Saturday night. We'll see how it goes. Tina > > > > Howdy everyone! I start a new job on Sunday. I'm going to be > > working > > > > the graveyard shift (9:00 pm until 5:30 am). Guest guest
Very cool. What do you do for a living? I'm thinking I'll have to bring my Magic Bullet with me and do 2 shakes and a meal...I have a 1/2 hour lunch. I guess I'll eat " breakfast " while the rest of my family is eating dinner then I'll have " lunch " at work and then " dinner " when I get home. Weird! How long have you been working these hours? Did it take you too long to get use to them? Thanks Laurie! Tina > Tina, me me! I do! I work 7pm to 7am. Three days a > week. Eating and drinking my protein work out > wonderfully for me at work. Guest guest
Tina, I'm a respiratory therapist. I've been working nights for about eight years now, and I have done it other times in the past as well. I'm nocturnal by nature. I don't like being nocturnal, but I make the best of it. On days I don't work I get up at seven, get the kids off to school and stay up till around one am. On work days, well, pretty much the same. I still get up at seven, get the kids off to school, then I'm up until ten am the next day, at which time I crash till two or three pm. Not exactly healthy, but the best I can do with my family. Guest guest
Laurie, I find that I can get by with a minimal amount of sleep so my plan is to sleep while the kids are in school and on days off...well, I'm not sure about those yet. I guess I'll just punt and go with the flow and see how I fair. I only made it to 1:00 am last night and slept until 7:00 this morning. I think the only reason I only made it to 1:00 am was because I was BORED! I get so bored so easily anymore. I just can't seem to sit still and if I do, I get tired. Weird! I did manage to finish my son's goodie bags for Halloween an entire month plus 1 week early. I hope the candy doesn't get all yuck! LOL! Tina > Tina, I'm a respiratory therapist. Guest guest
Are you naturally an early bird or a late bird? If when you've on vacation you stay up half the night and sleep in you'll probably adapt quicker. That's that I noticed when I worked graveyard for a few years. The people that were early risers, took a little longer to get used to it. One nice thing about graveyard, if you shop right after you get off work the stores are practically empty. Guest guest
<<<<<<<<<<<< >>>>>>>>>>> Tina, I eat every four or five hours depending on hunger level. It works out okay, because after I wake up, I only eat once or twice, then I'm back to bed. On journaling my food, everything eaten after midnite is logged for the next day. Then there is a long period (sleep plus the first couple hrs after I get up) where I don't eat, so it logs up pretty much just like everyone elses. Except it might look like I had tacos for breakfast when it was actually my last meal before bed. LOL. It's all good! Laurie __________________________________ Yahoo! Guest guest
Connie, I can't imagine starting a job and trying to keep the sarc under control. I know you are aware that stress will be a big factor in staying as healthy as possible-- that is you don't want "more" stress. Do take care of yourself, and give yourself those lunch hours. As you said, it'll all work out. Tracie
