Guest guest
Kass, how often does your little one need lines and or blood.. Maybe you might want to discuss with your dr getting a broviac or a port line placed. Than you have a line that is in place in the chest wall under the skin, it takes a tiny poke for them to enter, but than they are in and can get blood and fluids... The only risk with this is the risk of infection, but if you watch and make sure the nurses clean it properly than you dont have it. Hailee has had 4 and i dont know what we would do with out them, she has no viens, and if they do get one it blows right away, when we went in for her gi study last week it took 4 drs and over 15 pokes, her line has been pulled and we are waiting for surgury to get a new one, i refuse to put her thru all of those pokes.
