Guest guest
WHOA! Dan -- your tumor was Negative?!! WOW are you a lucky dog! I know two women who had chronic reflux, both developed tumors and both of them are gone now -- both from metastatic tumors of liver or brain. When do you go back to see the DS doc? Will keep my fingers crossed for you and Welcome to our little corner of the WLS world.-- Nan E., pre op in So Cal
Guest guest
Hi, my name is Dan, 46 years old, twentyfour wonderful years married, kids 11 and 6. Never a sick day in my whole life. Very obese from early childhood, now BMI 53, been a few pounds higher, been a few hundred pounds lower (optifast that did not last!) All set to have Lap DS with DR Herron, June 26...so excited that my curse may be lifted. All pre-op work and consult done except endoscopey. Had endo done early last week and doc finds AN ESOPHAGEAL TUMOR. Sends me to a major hospital for ultrasound endoscope..immediately! Have 2nd endo with multiple biopsies. Results not ready till after weekend. I do a little homework, my luck, vast majority of Esopgageal tumors are malignant with very poor prognosis...about 1-2 years life expectancy. ALMOST ALWAYS MALIGNANT AND ALWAYS TERMINAL. My poor wife is beside herself, few days turn into a full week... biopsies are negative...life goes on. Just wondering how having a small tumor will be viewed by Dr Herron as to my still having DS, Hoping we can still move foward? Reading this list for a few months and thankful to all for your info spirit and courage....life is wonderful...I have just been gently reminded. Fine holiday weekend to all

Guest guest
My Goodness Dan - It looks like this surgery is going to end up saving you in more ways than just the weight. I very glad that they caught these tumors. Best of luck to you and your family. gail
Guest guest
Sounds like you are a very lucky man, Dan. I'm not sure I'd call that a gentle reminder though! I bet your wife would agree! I wish you the best and hope this won't stop your plans. --- dberman2@... wrote: > Hi, my name is Dan, 46 years old, twentyfour wonderful years married, > kids 11 and 6.
