Green smoothies are wonderful, but if you depend on smoothie mixes, you'll get nothing but SCD illegal junk! (Note: SCD is a gluten free diet, but a gluten free diet is not necessarily SCD!) I make them! If you're new to SCD, I recommend cooked and peeled vegetables. Take a couple cups and whiz them up in a blender with some homemade beef or chicken broth, and whatever seasonings you can handle or fancy, maybe add a hard boiled egg or a few ounces of cooked chicken or beef and whiz completely smooth. Pour into a tall glass and drink. I've done mine cold, and I've heated them and had them as soup. If you don't have any broth handy, you can use, if tolerated, legal tomato juice or even water. You can also throw in (or stir in after pouring) a few dollops of SCD yogurt.
