Guest guest
Kidney stones cause intense abdominal pain. I would think anything in the abdominal area would cause GI pain. Have you had urinary tract infections or bladder reflux? A UTI would make you feel terrible and may cause cramping and maybe some D. Maybe if the GU issue is cleared up, you will feel better. That would be nice. Hope it all goes well. Guest guest
Hydronephrosis is a fancy name for a swollen renal pelvis and could be froma stone blocking the ureter( you should expect pain) or it cold be just the time it was scanned ie. irrelevant and it could be followed up by an ultrasound or another ct. Other things can cause it also but lets not panic. It could resolve itself and never be a problem or it could be something you have had since childhood and never knew about so dont worry yet. A high calcium diet can cause stones and sometimes these pass out of the kidney and down the ureter to the bladder. They can be very painfull but if you keep up your fluids, they have less chance of forming because you are constantly washing the kidneys and not letting the fluid just sit. good luck jena husband john crohn's\MED FREE TODAY just got CT scan results back -GI looks good - guess that's good -LOLbut pain in upperleft back is still there -I have rt kidney hydronephrosis - non-specific maybe stones??? weird - haven't talked to main doc yet but GI said he's refering me back as it doesn't seem like GI issue - amyone else every have this? and did it present as a GI issue??? thanksEileen 21 months scd
Guest guest
I have hydronephrosis....They said it was something I was born with and my kidney did not rotate all the way properly, nothing to worry about and unrelated to GI.Hydronephrosis is a fancy name for a swollen renal pelvis and could be froma stone blocking the ureter( you should expect pain) or it cold be just the time it was scanned ie. irrelevant and it could be followed up by an ultrasound or another ct. Guest guest
I have upper back pain. I thought it was gall bladder (it's one of the symptoms). I had that removed last Jan. and the back pain didn't resolve. It comes and goes now, but since starting SCD 2 weeks ago it's been there almost daily. Sometimes it's upper back, the other day it was my left shoulder blade area. I can tell it's not muscle but digestion related. Sometimes I get it when I get really hungry....other times I get it after I eat - so I can't figure out a pattern!! But it certainly is uncomfortable!!
