Guest guest
OKay kiddies, my sister's surgery went as smooth as silk. Dr. Fisher came out and told us that it went very well, and while in there ther even fixed her hyatal hernia (sp?). When we went to her room to see her afterwards, she was still a little groggy and having a hard time "waking up", but she was doing really great while we were there. I wanted to stay longer, but my Mom & I were both totally exhausted. We left her in the good hands of the Kaiser staff. I know she's going to have a host of phone visitors with other family members calling. I'm making her some jello cups tomorrow morning so they'll be here when she gets home. Of course, we have broth and tons of water as well. Now, I have even more incentive to move on to the other side... Ron Re: Re: Losing the 10% yeah, I'm really struggling again as well.... Guest guest
You are a good brother, Ron. She's lucky to have somebody so caring looking out for her. She may be advanced to Stage II before she heads home(I was), so you should probably buy some Cream of Wheat, unsweetened applesauce, low carb yoghurt, and Sugar Free pudding to be ready for that. Congratulations on your continued weight loss! That's marvelous. Really! Let's get that walking going, even if you are a bit hobbled...keep up the dieting...and I'll bet you are right...you'll have a Christmas present! I'm so proud of you. You are going to get there...and watching your sister disappear (I was wearing a tee shirt yesterday that says, "Ravishing Redhead" and my friend Dave said, "It should read, "Vanishing Redhead." My ex called me "Shrimp" today.) will keep you motivated, because you'll want that for your own life, too. I"m so excited for you! What a new life you will have. And here's the good news: the more you lose beforehand, the lower your weight will go during your first 2 years. In other words, if you start out at a lower weight because of all of your diligence, you can use those first 2 years to get even smaller, so you can really get yourself to a nice and healthy weight. Kudos to you! Robynn BBQ Man wrote: OKay kiddies, my sister's surgery went as smooth as silk. Guest guest
Give her my best and you will be there soon!! Huggles > > Hello every one > > > > I am so frustrated with myself. Guest guest
Ya know Robynn, when I was talking with Steve today, we were talking a little about support systems. So I told him about all the different support systems I have in place, including this list. Of course, he was aware of the list and I dropped a few names, including yours. He either knew, or knew of, all the folks I mentioned. And he agreed that you are all a great source of support. I cannot tell you ALL how lucky I am to have found this group. And thanks to Shell for allowing me in! Anyway, we do have all those things listed already in the house, except she hates cream of wheat, so bought cream of rice instead. As for walking... you know, going to Richmond always requires a lot walking in itself. So believe me, I walked my a$$ off all over that hospital and clinic. And yes, I will be walking, walking walking. It's a little painful right now, but I do push myself, and the pain does tend to subside some after a while. Getting some better shoes and the arch supports will help immensely. Ron Re: a's surgery You are a good brother, Ron. She's lucky to have somebody so caring looking out for her.
