Delaina,

You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I can't give you any tips as I am pre-op

myself.

Take almost NOTHING with you. I didn't even take a change of clothes,

since I knew I would only be wearing the ones I wore to the hospital for

just a short period of time. Do take a lip balm, a back scratcher (in

case you need help wiping), a notebook and writing instrument. Also make

sure you take a pillow to press against your tummy on the way home.

That's it!

Hi Delaina, I am so excited for you..I haven't had the

bypass. My surgery is the 21st of sept. I was thinking

of bringing chapstick, deck of cards and

crosswords,bathrobe,toothbrush,paste and comb.Maybe

you can let me know after your surgery what you

forgot. I am willing to learn from the experience

people.. I'll be thinking of you and I know you will

do great

Let's see...I took chapstick, gossipy type celebrity

magazines, cell phone, slippers, playing cards. I

think that's all. I used everything I took except the

playing cards. What I wish I taken...two or three

extra pairs of undies. My incisions drained like

crazy, and my panties were always wet. Very wet.

Ick! Ok, I gave myself away, they were big ole granny

pannies, for you men, that's tighty whities. Not

bikinis or thongs. LOL

I am 8 days out and I had the same list. I used none

of it except the toothbrush & toothpaste. I wore their

gowns and it was a good thing since the drainnage tube

when changed would leak (bloody fluids) so it got on

their gowns instead of my clothes. A pillow for the

ride home was good. The seat belt went over it. I read

nothing too dopey from the meds. Between them checking

on you, and trying to walk the halls it made me too

tired to read or anything else. Just keep it simple.

Good luck

For me...moisturizer for my face, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a pillow for the ride home, and my teddy bear. I used their gown (my robe), and their little socky slippers...and I didn't read nor did i watch tv.

Hi everyone.. to me that is so funny about the granny

panties.. when I was little (actually young that is)I

use to see my mothers panties and think how big they

were.I look at mine and see how enormous they are..

You know this is the first time I thought how nice it

would be to buy a smaller prettier pair..I can laugh

at that now, but I am telling my husband fredricks or

victoria secrets here I come in about 6 months..I am

hoping. Thanks for the items I wrote them down to

remember on the 21st for me.

ok men do you wear boxers or briefs

Funny you should say that, one of the first things I wanted to do

when I lost my weight was buy pretty undies. Now Im a Vicoria's

Secret junkie!! LOL except they are very expensive so I havent

bought any in a while but I love wearing the tiny undies. I havent

the courage to do thongs yet..they look so uncomfortable!! Hubby

was a little insecure at first, didnt understand why I needed them.

I told them for ME..not for him or anyone else...just ME!!

I'm baaaaaack... I feel like sh*t..but that's

expected...I can't find a comfortable position to

sleep..boo hoo. The incisions look good. I go back on

the 18th to have the staples removed. Wish I could

take my pain meds sooner than 6 hours...only 3 more to

go...I am really excited that I am living my new

lifestyle. These days are worth the health I'm going

to have in the future...Nap time!
