Guest guest
The question is why did I not react to the egg in 2-3 h after egg consumption but only after 6 h till I had spinach/lunch?Probably because it didn't get to your intestines/colon (IDK if you have Crohns or UC) until then. At least you figured out what the problem was!! Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds!
Guest guest
Kim- You're totally right: this is frustrating and confusing. Last week, I had more blood after the legal grape juice + honey (Amber from Whole Foods) jello!! I stopped jello, because I wasn't sure if its honey or concentrated grape juice? I have now bought locally made 100% honey from Whole Foods -- I hope that's legal. I am doing alright on the Intro diet + banana, so I keep going back. Tomorrow I am going to try applesauce. Frustrating thing is adding veggies: I have tried spinach, zucchini (each cooked for ~30 min) and I have more problems than just the basic diet. If I could tolerate eggs, that'll open up so many different things to eat Thanks, -Andy.
Guest guest
Andy, I have been following your posts and sympathize deeply. The first few weeks/ months can be very perplexing, but know that your body is healing. Die-off can be ugly and painful but is followed by improved digestive health. I even became worse before getting better. For instance, I never had ANY bleeding prior to SCD but it started 3 weeks into the diet. i got so scared but persisted with the diet and it went away, never to return, in a couple of months. My guess is that I may have been shedding some bad stuff. Others on the list will dispute this, but I would urge you to limit carbs initially. I would make jello with no honey if possible. In the beginning, I could not tolerate honey at all. It would make me bloated and gassy and led to a great deal of pain. Whenever I reduce my carb intake, my BMs are dramatically better. I know this is easier said than done. I remember how ravenous i was the first few weeks. Try going low carb for two days and see if you notice a difference. Have you considered enzymes? I have been on the diet a year and have found enzymes to be invaluable. When I run out, I notice significant changes in my digestive health. Have you tried very well cooked green beans? I could tolerate those early on. Have you been to crohns boy's website? It's really great and you'll learn a lot. Good luck, and don't give up until you have your health back 100% - Celiac, parasites SCD 1 year > > > > Kim- > > You're totally right: this is frustrating and confusing. Guest guest
Also I was wondering if its, in general, easier to tolerate egg whites than the yolk? > > > > Kim- > > You're totally right: this is frustrating and confusing. The white is the thing that people usually have problems with, the yolk is usually easily absorbed. Mara
