Guest guest
Ron, I have had good results with Methotrexate, I was put on Plaquanil first, then started the Methotrexate, I take it Sunday night, and in the beginning I would be extra tired and just not feel well in general on Monday but now I don’t even notice it. It took about 3 months before I really noticed any change. Then when I was feeling better the doctor had me reduce the dose and possible go off it, but I noticed the fatigue and pain got worse, I was able to reduce the dosage but not come off it, so I guess that proved it is working. I will pray that it works well for you too. God Bless, Marla From: Neurosarcoidosis [mailto:Neurosarcoidosis ] On Behalf Of anewronald@... Guest guest
Ron, If it is something you can do get the injectable form of Methotrexate. I have never had any side effect from taking it this way. If you can't give it to yourself then maybe you can go into the drs office and git once a week. Good Luch and hope it works.. You are in my prayers... Ruth > > Hello " Gang " > > My doctors are going to be recommending a drug therapy for me tomorrow. > Methotrexate is the one. I know many of you have tried this drug. Guest guest
Ron, I take 6 tiny little pills every Sunday night, my liver functions have been normal for the past 3 years of being on it, and like I said other then being tired I never got really sick, I had some of the lower GI problems but even that got better with time. Just in case your doctor wants to start with pills, thought I’d share this. Love ya, Marla From: Neurosarcoidosis [mailto:Neurosarcoidosis ] On Behalf Of J. Guest guest
Good day and prayers/love to everyone: For the past three years I also have been on Methotrexate, a weekly three pill regimen, in addition to the prednisone, Avonex, and the plethora of other meds I take. The methotrexate has never given me a problem, but maybe because the dosage is so low. My GI tract gives me problems occasionally, sometimes I have the urge to go, (poop/deficate) but cannot feel it coming out, so in essence I do not know when I am done, if that makes sense... Personally, I have just come to the conclusion that I am going to be stuck with this and my auto-immune system is shot. I hate it, but I am glad to be alive and will function for as long as I can.
