Hello Friends

I am having a problem with Shelby who is two and a half not

sleeping.

She is not napping and does not sleep ,this morning it was quarter to

five when she went to sleep and she was back up at eight.

When this happens it seems to be a pattern that stays for a couple

weeks. I called the pediatrician and she told me to talk to the

neuro. Can this be a neuro problem causing her to not sleep?

None of my other children have ever done this. I am afraid of her

causing a crash by exhausting herself doing this. Any advice would

be great.

Thank you,

you might want to try Melatonin. I use this with my girls. The bottle reads

to give 20 minutes before bedtime. I just mix it with their evening meds and

they are ready to go to bed within 10-20 minutes. It comes in 1mg and 3 mg

tablets and can be bought OTC. I started with 1/2 a 3mg tablet for a couple

of days and then went to a whole tablet. It works well for us. My girls are

also 2 1/2.

It also comes in a smaller 300mcg tablet- which my 5 & 6 yr old use. It should be used for about a week to reset the sleep pattern. of course, when their pattern gets thrown off again- repeat.

I get Melatonin in liguid form at GNC. I mix 1/2 a dropperful in

his milk and he is out within the 1/2 to 1 hour. My son is 7 and I

just learned about it from his Developmental Ped. I don't know how

we lived without it. Just make sure the kids are in their PJ's

before you give it to them. The stuff is GREAT!

My son's behavior has improved some also.

Kim,

Do the drs say why the girls don't sleep? Where can I get melatonin?

How long did your girls not sleep before you tried using anything. The

pediatrician suggested benadryl it didn't work.

When will the girls be three?
