I went on birth control about two months before I married in 1976; within

I also known my symptoms were always worse right around my

I've been on birth control for years. I tried stopping a few weeks before

surgery, but only lasted a couple weeks. I was getting too much pain in my sides

(ovarian cysts, I guess). As soon as I restarted the pills, all was well again.

According to the " spit " test, yeast isn't an issue for me. BCPs can cause yeast

problems for some people though.

Hi ,

I had an alleged love affair with birth control for years..

In the absence of my period or I would just get it for weeks and weeks on end..

I would go on birth control.. feel better to not feeling great and having to

switch brands.

I eventually developed horrible ovarian cysts while on birth control especially

skipping the week " off " and just taking the pill straight through..

So yeah.. I have totally experienced feeling better when I removed Birth

Control.

I attribute it to being one of the main reasons my Crohn's got so bad.

Hi Jodi,

This is amazing news. You were preparing for surgery when I first joined this

board, and now look how far you have come.

I am so happy for you, and also for the hope you give others. I do hope you will

stick around on this board to advise and inspire us :)

Jodi,

All your hard work is paying off. I am so glad that you find

yourself in remission because I used to cringe at what your posts indicated was

the suffering you were going through (right before surgery). So I am relieved

to hear you are doing well and getting on with that thing called Life.

Now you can continue to create your life the way you want it to

be.

Enjoy the trip! Happy New Year!

Amazing Jodi, so great to hear you are doing so well!  Have a great New Year and I hope the holidays so far have been nice--sounds like it.  Always encouraging to hear good news from folks who have been on the diet.  What type of mind/body work are you doing--I get what you mean with the feelings, frustrations, etc. and for so long.  You've been through a lot.  I'm guessing yoga but would love to read you post about it if you are comfortable with it.

Hope to see you post updates, I have wondered where you were ;-).

Thanks ya'll so much!!

Debbie- I do EFT work (Emotional Freedom Technique) as well as a couple of other

modalities with my practitioner. It has been really effective for me. I do not

handle stress, excitement and anger well (well among many other emotions as

well) I hope as my fatigue gets better with treating sleep apnea I will be able

to start a yoga regimen.

So glad to hear the great news, Jodi! You've certainly had a difficult ride

this past year. It's really wonderful to hear that, in the end, you're doing

okay.

We should all only know good health in 2010!
