Guest guest
Why Colleen? I am getting ready and my doctor is one who believes that 2 weeks is pretty much enough time off. I asked him the other day because I am a one on one student attendant aide and I have to lift a 10 year old girl out of a wheelchair at least once a day and put her on the toilet. That isn't easy even now. He told me that there would be no lifting restrictions after 2 weeks. The psych. that I went and saw told me that 2 weeks was too early to be lifting. She had the surgery 8 weeks ago herself. I am going to play it by ear. Guest guest
That is way too early to be lifting. I wasn't suppose to lift over 20 pounds until at least 4 weeks out, preferably 6 weeks out. I had it lap. I'd take 6 weeks if I was you. Guest guest
Colleen, Hi...I am not that far behind you...I am 42. I will be working at 7:30-2:30. The part I am worried about is the changes the body goes thru......I will talk to the surgeon and my PCP before surgery.... Thank you, PattyColleen Garner wrote: Patty- I work in a mammography center and my job is purely desk work and supervisor stuff. Guest guest
Tina, Thank you....that is what I thought. The psych. that they send you to also has a child in a wheelchair so she knows. I think that sometimes doctors try to rush you too much. When I had my babies, I was up and about very quickly, except on the 2nd day after having my last child, I had my tubes tied. That surgery was also done lap and that took along time to recuperate from....a full 6 weeks before I could even exercise. Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it.
