Thanks for helping with this-

Maddie's doc said some of the renal function results could be due to dehydration (she doesn't drink even close to what is required!) She's taking no supplements yet, we're waiting to talk to the met. doc at the end of the month. Her lactic acid has always been elevated, but her ketones were normal in her urinalysis. We're questioning some liver involvement, and will probably start with a renal ultrasound later this summer. If you have any other insight, please let me know! I'm going to mention the glutathione to the doc as well. Thanks again.

Re: Increased b-12 in blood/ lab levels

Holly,The low creatinine probably reflects low muscle mass. Creatinine is abreakdown product of creatine, which is an important component ofmuscle. Creatinine can be converted to ATP. The daily production ofcreatine and subsequently creatinine, depends on muscle mass, whichfluctuates very little. Her BUN/creatinine ratio is high because hercreatinine is so low. When you divide a normal BUN level by a lowcreatinine the ratio is usually going to be high. For my son, his B12 level was high until we added glutathione. Glutathione is needed to activate B12. All of his B12 was sittingaround waiting to be activated. Does she take a B12 supplement orhave liver involvement?Elevated anion gap can mean there is metabolic acidosis--either lacticacidosis or ketoacidosis. Has she ever had elevated ketones or lacticacid? Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
