Guest guest
try www.sarahmoodyfoundation.org. They make cooling vests for children at no cost. You do, however need to go on a waiting list. Grace has been on the list since the end of April, and hopefully we can get it before summer is over. Also if you are willing (and able) to pay for it you can make a tax deductable donation in the amout to cover the vest, this way no waiting list. For Gracie they are sending her the vest with an extra set of inserts, hat, wristbands, neckband, a cooler to store the extra set in, and since she is little she is also getting a cooling teddy bear. They told me her set costs about $350. We are trying to get donations and come up with some of it on our own to get it faster. Best wishes, these are great people to work with. Guest guest
I am wondering if anyone knows of a good company to order a cooling vest and neck wrap from. I am looking for the ones that you chill in ice or the freezer and stay cold for about 3 hours. I tried coolsport but the ordering process is really complicated. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks.
Guest guest
I just got a neck wrap from QVC. It's not the ice/refrigerated kind...(that kind I can't get to stay cool for long enough. This one is a water activated, reuseable gel kind. It says it will last for severalDAYS! Haven't tried it yet, but heard some pretty good reports from people who have. (F1054 total with shipping $17.36) I also got from QVC their personal Air Cooler which is a med sized thermos type, carryable container of tap water with a manual pump type sprayer at the top with a tiny hose and nozzle that mists out water. (M8929 total with shipping $22.97) If they work the way I hope they will it's well worth the money for me. Hope that helps. I look forward to hearing info about a cooling vest if someone knows of one. Best Wishes, Anita > I am wondering if anyone knows of a good company to order a cooling > vest and neck wrap from. Guest guest
We will be ordering vests for Hailey & Brenna in a few days from one of these companies. Check with your insurance company to see if they will cover it with a MD letter. Our metabolic MD wrote a letter on why they need the vests & our insurace is going to pay for them.
