HERE is my onion thing..

Hi

I am the one going to Disney

My son has taught me what he will eat... and he..like all of us, like crunchy!

's simple Onion Ring Recipe

I slice onions thinly. usually 2-3 HUGE ones.. or several small.

I brush safflower oil (or anything acceptable) on 2-3 cookie sheets.

preheat oven to 285.

spread onions in a single layer(some overlapping.. no time to be crazy on this...)

spray with acceptable spray oil.. (sesame seed oil-- I only use SPRAY oils on tops of things, due to high cost of sprays)

I sprinkle sea salt generously (my Natrapath says it is great for him...and so yummy)

Bake at 285 for about 1 hour.

Check. Should be looking a little bbrown-- not too much....

cook longer til you are there.

(some may be mushy, some brown, crunchy)

since mushy is a waste... (in my house)

I then...

lower temp to 185 and leave for 2 hours.

I have a feature on my oven... It's a COOK & HOLD button.

So.. after I hit BAKE button for 285 and it's heating, I hit COOK & HOLD and I set the time.. whatever I press in time is the COOKING time.. then it magically switches to WARMING temp.. 170... for like 2 hours.

170 is great for LOW & SLOW cooking veggies to get them crunchy and still colorful.

I never knew what it was for...the COOK & HOLD button now it is my godsend. Maybe U have one and don't know how to use it too!
