Guest guest
Does he take Carnitor at all then? Some times Asenath smells like it and Dr. Whiteman says it could be because her Carnitine in her body may work better at times than other times so her need for the supplement fluxuates, as well as sometimes if they are pushing all the supplement out quickly rather than absorbing the Carnitine, it will cause them to smell. You may want to try to lower his dosage 1/2 ml. for a couple days to see if that helps, but it is wise to ask your doc if he minds as he may have further input or concerns because he would know your child better than I do. Hope this helps you some though. Darla: mommy to Asenath, Zipporrah, Luke, and the gang Fish smell OK my son now smells like a fish. It's awful. I feel like a little onion and bread and he'd be a tuna suprise...... Do any of you have any ideas how to get rid of it since bathing doesn't seem to help. He isn't on a high dose of L-CarnitorThanks once again for all your help
Guest guest
Even smaller doses of Carnitor can cause this, it is just there way of metabolizing it. If it is really awfull there is a medication they can give for a few weeks that is supposed to get rid of the smell. I have never had to use it for Grace, because hers goes away in a few days. I did hear that it will keep them "odor free" for quite awhile. I cannot remember the name but I believe I read about it on the site for Carnitor, by the manufacturer. If you type in Carnitor into your browser you should get to the site. If you need me to research it for you just let me know.
