Guest guest
Hi all! I just got a sample of the ChewQ from Epic, and Maddie will actually take these! (She even said MMMM.) I know on the UMDF website the recommended dosage is 5-15 mg/daily. The chewables are 30mg. Should I give her half of one a day? How much do your children take daily, just for reference, before I talk it over with the doc? Maddie's CoQ level was below the normal low. I'm going to go ahead and order it from Epic, while I continue the fight with insurance/medicaid. TIA! HOlly
Guest guest
Holly, it is 5-15mg per kg. Which means for each kg give at least 5mg. Here is a link to convert pounds to kg to figure out hown much Maddie weighs. I am glad that she likes the taste of the chewables (will be putting my other two on them this summer). Example:if she weighs 20kg then the low would be 100mg qd (5mg/kd/d) I would give this in at least two divided doses http://www.curezone.com/conversions.asp Hope this helps, Dawn
Guest guest
Once again, thanks Dawn! She weighs 10.45 kg, so I can safely start her with 50-60 mg, right? (Yes, she's tiny!!!) Have you tried the chewables? Epic sent me a sample bottle of 7 to try- my other 2 liked them as well. Did 's doctor give you any more info. about the b-12 issue? Guest guest
Holly, I would think that I would take do 30mg twice a day to start and see how it goes. You can increase up to 100 (50 twice a day ) later if she needs to. I put an email out to 's doctor about the b12 and she said she didn't know anything at all about it but she would research and find out as much as she can. She said it probably couldn't hurt but she wanted to see some info first. Your very welcome. I hope it helps. I need to order some more coq10 for me tomorrow so I will ask for a sample too. If I can get it into my oldest and youngest they are going to start on it soon. too. Let me know how it goes and if she feels any different or if you notice nay difference. We started so many meds with at the same time so it was hard to tell which made her feel so good. I know it has helped me. Dawn
Guest guest
The dose is usually figured by the mito doc, depending on defficiency and need. Grace is 2years old and 34 pounds, she takes 100mg a day. We have found that giving her the full 100mg in the morning helps her energy alot. We used to give her 50 in morning and 50 at night but her energy was great in the morning then would drop off during the day, but nighttime she was awake again. I would be sure to consult with your doc before giving her anything higher than the normal protocal.
