Guest guest
Personally I don't think I have ever had seizures but I do know I have had the focus problems you mentioned. About 8 years ago I had a paralyzed eye and had what I call "zoom camera lense" eyes. I would look at something close to me and then when I looked up at something farther away it would take a while for me to focus things into view and would seem to have to zoom forward until I could focus. I hated it and had bad headaches with it for about 6-9 months. Thankfully I haven't had this reoccur since but do still have the dizziness that came with it quite frequently still when moving my head from side to side. Hi e, Glad to share, especially because I am learning SO much from you wonderful groups of folks! I often have the same thing happen to me, though for me it's sometimes an "unprepared surprise" isssue. However, many years ago I had a neurologist get up close and "in my face" and my "seizure type thing" happened. She assumed I was a "nut case" and told me so. I think NOW I understand that I was having trouble focusing a (hostile) object so close to my face. The convergence insufficiency ususally shows up with trouble focusing QUICKLY from far to near, or the reverse. I would guess many mitos probably have trouble doing LOTS of neuro-type things quickly :-)Best Wishes, Anita( adult, probably PDCD/PDH and working on getting a firm diagnosis)> In a message dated 6/7/2004 10:25:49 AM Eastern Standard Time, > ninaranu@s... writes:> Another thing that I've found out as an adult from my SUPER WONDERFUL neuro > opthamolgist > is the act of focusing eyes on close objects can also cause seizures, > myclonic jerks, etc.> It's caused "convergence insufficiency".
