Guest guest
I have *terrible* sugar and other carb cravings and can't resist eating them even though I know I shouldn't. So why will that be any different after the surgery? >>>>> Hi ! I think this is one question I can try to answer for you based on my own mileage...... I used to love sweets constantly pre opt....my favorite was jamocha almond fudge ice cream loaded with marshmellow sauce......I ate that stuff almost every day for years. Today I can tell you that I no longer care for ice cream! It tastes gross to me.....too sweet and too rich for my taste now. Truth be told, for most of us, our tastes change after surgery. Ever drink a glass of apple juice? its now way too sweet for me so I must dilute it with water! Amazing! You wont continue to scarf down sugar afterwards. For one thing your new tummy will be much, much smaller and it will only hold so much. First and foremost, you must eat protein. After that, there is very little room for much else. We all have this fear it wont work for us......been there, done that. I can tell you the surgery does work! Im almost 9 months out and down 83 lbs......Im only 23 lbs from my goal now with 15 more months in my window of opportunity!!! I enjoy all foods........even sweets and I continue to do well. The same can happen for you!! Judie
Guest guest
Lilian,>The traditional rice porridge is cooked with milk. Would it taste really wacky if it was cooked with youghurt?? I don't think it would be wacky, but it will make it slightly sour and it might curdle. If it were me, I would try it with coconut milk (2 cups unsweetened dried coconut with 3 cups boiling water. Leave for about 20 minutes, puree in blender, strain through cheese cloth and metal strainer--gives about 2 cups). Or by blending DCCC with coconut milk (or water) until smooth and milk-like to avoid the curdling but not too heavy of a coconut influence. Now I have to start thinking about Christmas! Too frustrating at the moment. We are in the middle of moving to a new place on the week before Christmas! : )Amelia

I use Apothecure for a porcine thryroid medication (like Armour thyroid). This is the reply I got from the pharmacist when I inquired about the ingredients: " The only things in the formula is Thyroid, Cellulose fiber, and sodium bicarbonate Roger Mansfield, R.Ph. Why didn't I think about coconut milk. the canned Trader Joe's coconut milk has no gum in it, so I've been using that in my coffee, too. >Or by blending DCCC with coconut milk Can't find Friendhip Farmer's cheese in any store around here. > We are in the middle of moving to a new place on the week before >Christmas! : ) Good luck!!
