Oliva's Progress With Nt Factor

Hi :

Yes, I would love for you to post it with yahoo. I have been reading

about it and I already signed up, but I have not had the chance to to

go to the chat room.

Yesterday Olivia had a breakthrough with feeding (another miracle,

really)...

We are trying to offer distraction instead of feeding her as we

spoke so she is getting really hungry when it's time to eat, I

attached the the spoon in her hand with velcro and help her get the

food to her mouth, she was smiling and had her eyes wide, wide open.

she started chewing slowly and then she close her mouth and lips,

made a bolus and swallowed it! after that a big smile. Her hand and

wrist were moving when I was assisting her to get to her mouth. I

tried this many times before in the past but Olivia's increased tone

made it so hard! now after doing this for 5 times since yesterday she

is now trying to take the spoon to her mouth ( for now it just hits

her anywhere in the face) but she still smiles because we know she

knows this is getting easier for her to do. Oh Boy, just when we were

talking about a feeding tube...she puts it all together.

She is trying to chew on her own and I think she is going to wean

herself off that " binky " . We are overwhelmed with joy!!!!

In addition, Olivia had an appt. with Dr Zadeh, for a genetic

consultation in regards to possibly trying for another child. She had

seen Olivia when she was hours old and was so impressed with all her

progress. I shared with her all I have on NT factor, brochure and web

site info. She was very receptive and wanted to share this with a

Mito specialist at the hospital. I probably will make an app. with

that specialist in the future and will brush on it again.

I will keep you informed of all other changes and " miracles " with

Olivia. Thank you for your support.
