Guest guest
For about the last 2 or 3 weeks, I've seen undigested carrots and green beans in my stool (everyone's favorite subject ;-)). This is kind of odd, because I've never had undigested food the whole time I've been on SCD (1 year today!!!). I digested them find right after surgery too. The veggies are cooked soft, just like always. Can a body just up and change it's mind about a food it's handled fine for such a long time? The only thing that has changed during this time is that I've been eating less calories, reduced mostly in the form of carbs and fat. I also had a CT enterography a week ago, but the problem started before that. I've only been eating stage 1 and 2 foods since surgery. The body can abruptly decide it doesn't want to go there. My system does it from time to time. And for no particular reason that I can discern except a sudden stress or something. (We won't discuss what the system has been doing this last 6-8 weeks, with Mom's last illness and all!) One thing I find helps me is to take a couple of Lyosan whenever I'm consuming something which has suddenly become problematical. The extra probiotics seem to give my gut a kick-start that lets it return to digesting the foods it was handling. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Thanks for the input Marilyn! I don't have any pills, but I can certainly try eating a little yogurt with my veggies.
