I know several of us have had kids with vascular rights or another word would be Abberant Right subclavians and they have to go in and remove the artery. They don't replace it b/c the body just finds a collateral way to compensate for it. They really talked up the surgery and made me tour the ICU and told me we might be there a long time and such. was 11 months old. They were ready to discharge us after two days...i think we stayed three though b/c he had dropped oxygen a few times in the night and I was nervous to take him home. I would imagine if they have to do anything, they would just go in and take the artery out.

Six months before died he had another echo...he had just had one in august but someone saw something on a routine chest xray and called the cardiologist. Anyway, they found something really weird they had never seen before...it has like ten words and I honestly dont' remember them now, but basically something that people are born with (an anomoly) showed up and wasn't on any past echo's. They were very puzzled by it. It wasn't what you are describing but just to say, yes there are anomolies, but whether they are any more common than in the general population, would be hard to say!
