E-lyte, from Body Bio is something many of us use. http://www.bodybio.com/storecategory92.aspx or you can make electrolyte fluid yourself. ELECTROLYTE DRINK from the LI Listserve 1 quart boiled water 2 tbsp. honey 1/4 tsp. of salt 1/4 tsp.baking soda Can be kept in refrigerator for 24 hours. After that, a new batch should be made. A variation on this, if you don't handle honey well, is to substitute 7.5 ounces of a legal juice, such as the grape or the apple cider, for the honey. The flavor of the juice will provide the same carbs as the honey, and will help mask the flavor of the salt and baking soda. If prepping for the test, which calls for a clean-out, I would use white grape juice or pear juice. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
I had to use the miralax and it made me sick.....seriously it made me vomit and I do not know how much of me was cleaned out....but after all that fasting and sick feeling I told them they better do that test anyway! Good Luck! Suzanne IBS/Diverticular dis. " If prepping for the test, which calls for a clean-out, I would use white grape juice or pear juice. " That's funny. This is logical that they wouldn't want anything red, and yet when I had my last colonoscopy two years ago, the instructions said no red or purple Jello but that juice or home-made gelatin could be from purple grape juice. Since I like purple better than white grape juice, I used it and got no complaints about what I had done. He said I was clean as a whistle. Perhaps the problem is the artificial reds or purples in the Jello. Still, I dunno about anyone else, but if I'm going through a clean-out, I sure as heck am not going to risk spoiling it by using purple or red grape juice! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Marilyn I wouldn't have, either, but I asked specifically about it when I was going over the rules with the nurse and she said it was OK. And it was! But I sure agree, I'd hate to have to repeat the process. The nutrisweet in the prep gave me heart attack symptoms for four days and it took a month to recover from the procedure, probably due to the stress on my adrenals which were worse than I knew at the time. Guest guest
Yes, it's the artificial colors that can stain your insides. For my last clean out, purple grape juice and red cranberry juice were acceptable. However, blue and red gatorades were not (not that I had any plans to drink gatorade). I drank purple grape juice without any problems. Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > >That's funny.
