Guest guest
Devorah,I would get a nice wide mouth stainless steel thermos. I have warmed chopped meat and veggies and the thermos keeps it nice and warm. Just warm the thermos with boiling water inside for a few minutes while you are warming the food. Soups, stews, and whatever leftovers work well this way. You can then pack some bread and jello for dessert since there is a fridge.AmeliaHusband UC 9 years, SCD 15 monthssoon to start LDN
Guest guest
I make meatloaf by taking 3 pounds of ground turkey (sometimes I mix in beef or pork ect.) and add whatever seasonings you like. Then I mix that up and put it on a cookie sheet. After you flatten it out a bit you can grate a bunch of cheese ( I like using colby or cheddar or a mix) and sprinkle that on top of the seasoned ground meat. Now you just roll it up so it looks like a pumpkin roll, or some other type of roll with the cheese through the middle and seal the ends and edges. Bake that in the over covered on 300-350 for about 1.5-2 hours and then uncover it and brown the outside. Be careful because the cheese melts out everywhere and it's messy. I put aluminum foil down so it's easy cleanup. I've already ruined a cookie sheet from baked on burnt cheese. Hi guys, I pack lunch for DH to take to work, and I feel like I keep sending the same old stuff over and over again. He must be getting bored, because I am! I need some fresh ideas of stuff I can pack for him. He has a fridge, but no microwave. Keep in mind: 1. he does NOT like tuna fish or yogurt 2. he usually has eggs for breakfast, so I don't pack any for lunch 3. He can't tolerate salad yet. He does ok with a piece of lettuce on a sandwich, but a whole salad is too much. Here's the sort of things I've been making for his lunch and snacks. Any new ideas would be very much appreciated! turkey sandwich cheese sandwich pancakes (regular, squash, or cheese) cheese stick apple (peeled) with peanut butter muffin fruit salad (no skins) banana What else can I try for some variety?? Thanks! Devorah Windows 7: Unclutter your desktop. Learn more.
Guest guest
That sounds easy & delicious – I will try it next time I make meatloaf. Btw parchment paper is a cooks best friend! My son likes homemade cheese crackers and baked chicken skins for " chip " type snacks. I also send him little containers of applesauce or canned pears. He also likes hamburger or turkey burger patties with little baggies of ketchup - he eats them cold, but your hubby could warm them up.
