Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I haven't been online very much as I have been pretty busy, but I check in every once in a while. I have good news! I got my surgery date- October 24th at Richmond with Dr. Baggs! I have been at my preop weight goal for a month or so,but I was going to wait until before Thanksgiving vacation to have the surgery. Kaiser didn't have the November calendar up yet so I decided to pick a date towards the end of October. I'm very excited, yet nervous at the same time. I have been working at a new position and am concerned how the time off will effect my job. I am also worried about getting enough sick leave, and have questions about filing for disability. I am starting to tell some people at work about my surgery, and have been getting the response of " Oh, but you have been losing weight so well on your own " , and " I thought that surgery was only for super heavy people. You're not that big. " I know these are all some of the issues and reactions I will just have to deal with, even though I tend to be a very private person. I am very proud that I have gotten to this point, and am looking forward to the next huge step. Also, hello to all my Vacaville people, and June 7 Richmond Orientation partners. I haven't forgotten how supportive you all have been! Good luck to all those new people who are just starting! Pam E. Guest guest
Pammagail!! That's such wonderful news! I hope everything goes perfectly well...and that all of the little ducks fall in line. Disability, etc...works out pretty well. The business office at Kaiser will do a lot of that paperwork for you (at the Richmond facility) regarding disability. Check into it early, then you will have it taken care of, and that will be one less thing on your mind. Congratulations!!
