There is a direct link in ESS and sarc-- especially when the pitutary stalk is involved. Interesting site"

Also, for those of us who have or had high prolactin levels (it was the primary reason for my infertility) there is also a connection with sarcoidosis effecting the pitutary gland and hypothalmus. (Hypothalmus controls body temperature also.)

Another one for thought. .

Now that I am finding this out, remember when the so called doctor wanted to remove my thyroid because of a so called cyst after that 6 needle biopsy? Now this makes more sense to me. the more I read this the more I am thinking I have Sarc of the Thyroid and the Hypothalmus.

Thanks Tracie, this helped and then I thought about something...I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism around early 30's (I'm 49 now almost 2o yrs later)...the heart skips were aroubd the same time although were not as bad as a few yrs later...a brain CT years later showed a partially empty sella (had been having headaches and a pounding sensation in my head when I would go from standing/sitting to lying down)...many years after that was dx with sarcoid but probably had it all along...made me think of a possible link. This disease has the ability to affect the entire body and in my case is multisystemic. I don't know of any other disease that can do this...just now really thinking about all this...Btiodaat@... wrote: There is a direct link in ESS and sarc-- especially when the pitutary stalk is involved. I find it so incredible that it wasn't addressed for me when I was very young. I had hyperthyroid from 12-18 yo. and at 18 had my thyroid removed. So, I've dealt with surgery induced hypothyroidism ever since. It is easily controlled with thyroid medication.

I also had serious sinus and upper respiratory infections all my life-- and I'm sure that my MD even then saw the sarcoidosis-- but figured it's not hurting her. (I had youth and was so athletic--we just didn't put that part of the puzzle together.)

It is fascinating-- I just wish none of us had to go thru this in order to fascinate our MD's.
