Guest guest
HI Everyone! I just wanted to ask, when do you " officially " join the century club? I weighed myself Sat and am officially exactly 100 down from my orientation weight, so now I am at 236. Does that count? OR is it when I am down to 190 which is 100 lbs from my surgery weight of 290? I am still thrilled beyond belief to drop 100 lbs, since Feb 2. Believe me! I feel so different inside and out! Here is my latest milestone! I went to a concert on Sat night in Berkeley at the Greek Theater. Those that have been there know how taxing that can be on someone obese. Anyway, we got to the veune about 4pm. We walked down to Telegraph Ave, about 1/2 mile(?) and walked around there. Then the walk back was ALL uphill and rather steep in some sections. I had my dinner in the car and then we went to the venue. I had to climb the mountain to use the port-o-potties at the TOP of the theater. Then to go back down all the stairs to be in second row center, I had to squeeze past all these people in my row. I had to sit between my husband and brother-in-law both of which have shoulders the size of linebackers. I kid you not, I couldn't see my seat I was supposed to sit in until I was right in front of it. It was still a tight squeeze, but I would have NEVER been able to sit there had I been my 100lbs heavier. I would have never been able to walk down to Telegraph and back or climb the mountain either. I should add I was never out of breath, or broke a sweet ever either! I would have been wringing wet pre-surgery. Not to mention I worked out that am at the gym( I didn't end up needing to since I got so much exercise from the concert experience. I feel like I did a Robynn kind of workout day! LOL I am so grateful for the surgery and that it was an option to get my life back! OH and best part of the weekend aside from seeing Loggins & Messina up close and personal, was that I went shopping on Friday night and bought my FIRST size 16 pants in probably 15 years!!! YAY! Okay, had to share and if anyone can answer my question, that would be great. I have always wondered which weight you go by. Thanks! Kay 336/290/236/? Guest guest
It was a pretty fun night, I must admit. I am so so so excited for you...loved hearing about your concert night, and all of the wonderful break throughs you had! How life changing!!! I was at the Greek for a concert the other day, and we wound up parking in East Timbuktu...so I was clipping along in my heels for a gazillion miles. And like you, I thought, "I would have been toast 70 or 80 lbs ago!!" It's really a wonderful measurement of progress...these lifestyle things that suddenly reveal that we are entirely different people, living entirely different lives. Heartfelt congrats! By the way, was the concert great? I've seen them before, and I love them!! Robynnspecialkmix2000 wrote: Thanks for answering Roybnn! I didn't see Tina's post before I asked my question. Guest guest
OH! They were absolutely amazing together. The harmonizing was spot on. Kenny brought out his son at one point and they all played together. His son has a great voice as well. He has a band as well, and he brought out his fiddle player and he was SMOKING! He can't be more than 22? Amazing talent there! I loved hearing the stories between the songs. I had NO idea Kenny used to open for Jimi Hendrix as a solo artist when he played Winterland!!! I was shocked! I have to admit, I wasn't raised listening to that type of music, so I only knew two of the songs that made major play on KFRC back in the day, but I went and bought both their albums yesterday! LOL I am a new fan! They also played longer then they were supposed to, they were having that much fun. 2 1/2 hours!!! must have been wonderful to see at the Greek! I still haven't had a chance to see him live. I know. I am lame! lol YOu must have parked where my mother-in-law and her daughter did. lol That place was made for mountain goats! You are so right! We are blessed everyday with our new milestones! Yay us! OH and I bought my first pair of high heels since college this last weekend as well! I can't imagine wearing heels at the Greek! You go girl! Guest guest
Absolutely it counts! That's exactly what my 101.5 pounds lost was...from orientation. 100 pounds is 100 pounds is 100 pounds and is a FABULOUS feat!!! Congraulations!!! You had your surgery a month later than mine and your weight statistics seem to be about the same as mine so... YOU GO GIRL!!! Guest guest
I've seen 17 times...twice at the Greek. I love him. My older siblings listened to Loggins and Messina, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, etc...so, consequently, did I. I love all of that music. Love the harmonies, the ballads, the words... I was supposed to go and see the Eagles in October, but it's when is here, and my ex husband has the tickets. They were $150 a piece, and very good seats. i'm totally bummed about that. Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary. 8 years (we lived together for four years before we got married, and we've been married for 8). Olivier is coming back from LV on that date. So, yesterday, Steve came over to drive my brother back to sunnyvale (because I was too sick)...and he said, "well, i guess happy anniversary, since I'm not going to see you." He was very sad. It makes me very sad, too. Very sad. Robynnspecialkmix2000 wrote: OH! They were absolutely amazing together. The harmonizing was spot on. Guest guest
That is sad, that is a long time to be with someone and have a connection to. Especially when they have Eagle tickets! j/k. I don't have any connection with my ex- so it must be hard to have that constant reminder. Sounds like you are all still pretty close. Eagles are great in concert though! I saw their Hell Froze Over Tour and back then it was 70 bucks just for lawn seats at Shoreline. 150 now, is not a surprise to me! Maybe next time you can see them? In their Farewell Tour #12? lol I saw a special they did in Melbourne, AUS and they were joking about that amongst themselves. It is amazing after all these years they still sound the same. 17 times to see ? WOW! I am impressed. Only band I saw more than a few times was the Grateful Dead. Yes, I was a Dead Head for a couple of formitable years of my youth. Didn't hurt of course that my boyfriend at the time was Mickey Hart's son's best friend. Memories..... Take care today. YAY!Okay, had to share and if anyone can answer my question, that would be great. I have always wondered which weight you go by.Thanks!Kay336/290/236/?Dr Baggs 6/28- the first day of the rest of my life! __________________________________________________
