Sue,

I tried MET-RX Protein Plus bars for taste in preparation for post op

choices. I found them palatable but not necessarily tasty. The bars

are pretty heavy but I think that might be a trait of most protein

bars, these are my first. I didn't really taste a huge difference

between the choco fudge and peanut butter choco flavors although the

peanut butter seemed slightly more appealing. The mint bavarian is

IMO disgusting (I wouldn't eat that flavor in a candy bar no less a

protein bar). I also recently found, in my supplement

experimentation, that they make " cookies " too. I was hugely

disappointed to open the pack and find they are basically the same

protein bars, in round cookie shapes. In addition, they are really

thick (I actually thought there were two cookies in the little foil

bag, but it was one big one). The cookie comes in a " choco chip

cookie dough " formula but " mysteriously " taste almost identical to

the others (I am pretty sure it is a textural thing at this point!).

All of this might be a moot point as from what I have heard your

tastes change BIG TIME after surgery not to mention tolerance

issues. So what tastes ok now, might be delicious or horrid after

surgery. Just a thought. I hope this was helpful.

P.S. I found all of the above at my local GNC store. I know they

also carry some MET-RX protein & protein plus bars in CVS pharmacy,

Genovese etc.

high in protein. I found them at www.nutrition-discounters.com .
