Ashford, I'm with you in not telling my family. I have only shared my Mom and 2 Sisters, but that was only after finally getting down my explanation/description of what this surgery does and why I need it. As for me, I think the most and greatest satisfaction will be after I have my DS, I wear a very attractive form-fitting dress(something that Marilyn Monroe would wear in her day) and my ex-boyfriend(who broke up with me because I was overweight) see me and his jaw drop to the floor!!! Plus I am tired of hearing: "You have such a beautiful face if only you could lose the weight."! I want to be healthy again and be the best that I can be, that's all. Anyway, may God bless us soon(I'm talking A.S.A.P.) with our WLS and we get glorious results! My entirefamily is MO and diabetic. I've already got the MO part down pat, and amhoping to avoid the diabetes. My family has rarely, if ever, approved ofanything I've done, mainly because I never married. I'm an RN, have alaw degree and have my own little business, but still everything comesdown to "why don't you have a husband like your sister?"I'm looking forward to their faces when I see them after losing WT andjust say "I lost it the old fashioned way--diet and exercise!"
