Guest guest
Jodi, DH's Dad also had sleep apnea and had one of those dental devices made. It took months and he was never comfortable and it was very expensive. Now it was probably 15 years ago and things may have changed, or maybe it was just DFIL not adjusting well. But isn't the dental device based on the theory that it's swelling or extra tissue in the uvula area that causes the apnea episodes ? I thought there were a myriad of causes for sleep apnea and thinking everyone had the throat/uvula problem was out dated theory. Also on that note, I asked my ENT about the issue on DH's behalf, since he does laser surgery for this problem. He said only a certain percentage of people have sleep apnea for that reason, and only a percentage of them can be helped with the laser surgery. He's done enough of them that he says he can tell just looking down someone's throat if the surgery would help or not. DH decided to not even see the ENT because he'd much rather use the machine because of how much better he feels with it. Glad to hear your GI tract is doing so well ! Do you think it's from the chelation, or just further down the road from the surgery ? Sue R
