Hi everybody, I haven't posted much lately. A few months back I decided that I had to step it up a notch and try to help out more around the house. I could see that working a job and a half and then doing all the work around the house was really beginning to wear on my husband. It does seem to have helped his mood out a bit but it has been a bit harder on me also. I hardly have the energy to 'join in' anymore. You know...even with being so ill for so long I still try to do too much at times. I try to fill every waking moment with something to do...so I don't 'think' too much...if you know what I mean. It has helped some with my depression. Getting other things on my mind besides what I've lost or what the future holds is a good thing. I forced myself to go to a wedding this last weekend. Some relatives hadn't seen me for 15-20 years. Even

though I slept 15 hours that night I was glad i went. I will not let this stupid disease steal everything from me. And there were three other people in wheelchairs. Why are we so self-conscious about that?.... Handling my pain properly has also helped the depression. MSM has been a godsend to me...especially right before I go to bed. I sleep so much better and more soundly. I watched a Dr. Phil show the other day about memory problems, etc. and the other doctor said that playing peppy music helped activate the brain thus helping memory and chewing sugarless gum brought more oxygen into the face and helped, too. He also said to eat more protein and cut way down on sugar. Sugar has only defeated alot of the work I have done for my health. Let's not forget the blood sugar havoc, too. Well, the hands are falling asleep so that's it for now. love to all and hugs

S.

It is so good to hear from you. I know that with all the heart problems that you have been walking a tough part of the trail.

I can certainly relate to what you're saying about doing too much--yet needing to help in whatever ways possible. It is so very difficult to figure out how to balance taking care of us, without ending up a recluse-- and then how to interact without ending up exhausted from doing so.

You are so right about the need to get out and become a part of what is going on in life-- as when we do sit home and focus only on our losses, well- we all know that place of depression.

I so admire your fighting spirit, and celebrate that with you!

Take care,

Tracie, thanks for the encouragement. ( M is the one with the big heart problems though). I am S. The funny thing about trying to do more...is that people then start asking you to do all kinds of stuff and you have to remind them how much it took out of you to do the one thing you did do. As if you are all better and healed ...like having a cold or something....yeah, right?!!! My mother-in-law had to go in for a blood transfusion(unexplainable internal blood loss...) and two of the nurses explained sarcoidosis to her while she was there. She must have brought up that her daughter-in-law had it. Guess my explanations hadn't stood up well enough...lol. But, hey, anything that helps her understand why I don't come to visit too often helps me, right?...Have a good weekend. hugs S.tiodaat@...

LOL! Ya know, with only 400+ of us-- we could all be . Now-- what is your story, and what is mine???? I'm so confused. LOL!

My bigger challenge is the Debbie's. Or is it Debbies'. I know someone lives in Sacramento, only an hour and a half away, and darned if I can remember who.

So, if I give you something you don't have-- or don't give you something you do have-- just know I'm close-- or crazy. And if you see me on the street-- send me home-- I'm probably lost.

Help, she's drowning!
